Comedy lovers have to keep waiting for a decent one. Hall Pass is running 27%. I'll reserve judgment because critics don't generally like this kind of material and I haven't seen the film myself, but it does appear that the Farrellys have lost their touch. Shame.
The surprise of the week is that the critics were fairly receptive to the Nic Cage film. It's running 64% positive, and several critics called it a low-rent good time.
Note: one reader noted that Cedar Rapids is a good movie (almost 90% on the Tomatometer) and funny as well, but for some reason it got shuttled off onto the arthouse distribution route. I want to see that film, but it's not playing in my region.
Cedar Rapids is hilarious and at like 86% on the tomatometer! Still only in like a hundred theaters, but I'm sure it'll get a national release soon.
