The Box Office Mojo guy had Harry Potter pegged perfectly at $48m, which means that he quite accurately predicted a drop of more than 70%. Kudos to you, Mr. Mojo, especially since Weekend Warrior had pegged Potter in the $70M range.
Mojo had predicted $62m and $23M for the two new films, Captain America and Friends With Benefits. Weekend Warrior's predictions were similar ($63M and $22M). The Cap came in slightly better than those guesses ($65M), but FWB fell 20% short of expectations at $18M.
WTF with FWB? IDK. Audiences apparently felt that it was kinda early for a remake of No Strings Attached, which took in some $70 million in January. And anyone knows you can't have a Kutcher movie without any Kutcher. Oh, yes, there are other hipster doofuses, like Timberlake, Seth Green and Ryan Reynolds, but when you need some Kutcher, you need the real thing. Those other guys are the New Coke of hipster doofery. Lordy, I needs me some Kutcher right now. I'm having withdrawal symptoms. I gotta re-watch "Dude, Where's My Car?"
