George Lopez Gets Pink Slip: TBS Cancels Lopez Tonight
Lopez dropped 40% when he moved to 12, but he had almost exactly the same ratings in the 11:00 slot as Conan. Lopez averaged 911,000 visitors in his year in the slot, Conan has averaged a million, but dropped to 851,000 in June!
It doesn't seem that Conan's pink slip could be far behind: (1) He is essentially doing no better in the 11:00 slot than Lopez did; (2) he is more expensive than Lopez; (3) he is moving in the wrong direction. Conan lost to Chelsea Lately for the first time in June, and by quite a large margin.
