The Lion King re-release in 3D devoured the competition. It took in more than the three new films added together, and nearly doubled its nearest rival, last week's Contagion.
Drive finished a fairly respectable third, but the other two new releases barely made a dent in the stats. Neither of them grossed two million for the day.
