Daily Box Office for Thursday, November 24, 2011
Daily Box Office for Thanksgiving DayThe Muppets were not able to dethrone those horny, romantic high school vampires. Scorsese's Hugo finished a distant third, although its average per theater was about the same as the top two. Arthur Christmas stumbled into 7th place, which is seriously bad for a holiday film in some 3400 theaters.
My Week With Marilyn did not do well. It averaged only about $1200 per theater, which is mediocre. Films in such limited distribution (only 123 theaters in the entire USA) usually ring up a very solid average per theater. Its total gross was only $155,000.
