Howard Stern will replace Piers Morgan as the third judge on ‘America’s Got Talent’

That is a very interesting gamble by NBC. Howard has a devoted following, but he is also one of the 10 most hated people in America, right up there with Casey Anthony and OJ. I would have guessed that the viewers of America's Got Talent would be more likely to be among those who hate Howard rather than those who listen to him religiously, so it's hard for me to guess exactly what NBC's strategy might be. Maybe their thinking is that every judging panel has to have a harshly funny, honest guy to give the show a little edge. I guess Howard is supposed to be that guy, the one you love to hate - Simon Cowell without the prissy accent.
