Obama leads Romney by 8, Gingrich by 13

Here's what it boils down to:

Americans are dissatisfied with the state of the union and are not very happy at all with the President. You probably saw the Gallup Poll which shows that Obama is at a historic low for this point in a first-term Presidency.

This situation should be great for the GOP, but the current Republican field seems so weak that voters are not willing to toss out Obama in favor of any of his potential opponents.

It's not a great time for Americans and their self-image.
