Although he came from a small country, he is one of the most important figures in the second half of the 20th century, and ranks among the people who changed the world, just below the first tier of Mandela, Thatcher, Walesa, Gorbachev, Gates/Jobs, and some of the American presidents.
I wonder ... if Time Magazine, or somebody like that, picked the man of the half-century after WW2, who would it be? Nelson Mandela, maybe? Gorbachev? I suppose the conservatives will argue for Thatcher or Reagan. I'm not sure who the liberals would campaign for - M.L. King?? Maybe.
