Key FAA facilities face retirement wave, attrition woes - CNN.com

We're running out of air traffic controllers.

It's a strange legacy of the 1981 strike. 11,000 air traffic controllers were hired that year to replace the strikers who refused to return to work. The problem is that when you hire your entire work force together, they all tend to reach retirement age together.
