New Movies In Theaters This Week - Rotten Tomatoes

There isn't much to discuss this week. The only new film in wide distribution is The Avengers. You all know what that is; you know it will be in 4000+ theaters; you know it has received 90+% positive reviews; and you know it may set box office records.

After that it drops down to a film in 27 theaters: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel with Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. Don't be fooled by the title. It's a rugged hard-R shoot-em-up which gender-reverses The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Dench plays the sadistic Lee Van Cleef role and Maggie Smith plays the amoral Tuco. OK, maybe not. Maybe you CAN trust the title to tell you that it's not a manly, Jason Statham kind of film. The tag line is something like "Life and love can begin again in the golden years when you let go of the past." That probably tells you all you need to know.
