Packers game demonstrates that the Niners must be pretty damned awesome
The Packers defense looked every bit as intimidating as they were during the last year and a half when they assembled their 21-1 streak. They stomped the Bears. Not only did they hold the Bears to a mere 168 yards of offense, but they also added four interceptions and seven sacks. The Bears were scoreless for the game's first 38 minutes.
The real meaning of that requires a reference to last week's games. If the Packers are good enough to completely maul the team rated #8 in the power rankings, the 49ers really seem to be this year's team to watch.
