1. The man most people would place #1 on the list: Martin Scorsese.

2. The men everyone else would place #1: the Coen Brothers

3. and, while we're at it, James Cameron, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Michel Gondry, Almodovar, Tornatore, Nikita Mikhalkov, Wes Anderson, Wong Kar Wai, Clint Eastwood, and Peter Jackson.

But Lena Dunham made the list.

Apart from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the show?

To be fair, I should point out that the article itself is reasonable. It's the headline that is ridiculous. It should be something like "directors to watch in the second half of 2012." (Although even that change would make it difficult to explain Lena Dunham.)
