The AP poll lists Oregon as #2, but Sagarin's "predictor" formula, his most accurate computer model, says South Carolina is already the #2 team, albeit by a narrow margin. The Gamecocks will play LSU and Florida, both on the road, in the next two weeks. Convincing wins there could even hoist them up to the top of the computer rankings. They may not pass 'Bama in the polls, but it doesn't really matter which team is #1 and which #2, since they will play each other to determine the ultimate #1.

Undefeated Ohio State is ineligible for the post-season this year. Because of that, the USA Today poll includes no Big Ten team in the top 25!
