The kid wrote:
"Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL classes are POINTLESS.'
Call me old-fashioned, but that Tweet indicates to me that he might derive some benefit from those classes.
To make matters worse rather than better, the spokesperson for Ohio State issued this explanation:
"We allow our student-athletes the opportunity to express themselves via the social mediums ... (but they must) always remember not to post or tweet anything that could embarrass themselves, their team, teammates, the university, their family or other groups, organizations or people."
The author of that statement was undoubtedly and ironically unaware of the embarrassment caused to a supposedly distinguished university when its official spokesman doesn't know the plural of "medium," particularly because it's one of the most common words in the English language.
Aw, shuckins, you can probably see it every day in them there news mediums.
