"Taken 2 debuted to an astounding $50 million from 3,661 theaters this weekend, good for a sizzling $13,657 per theater average. Taken 2‘s debut is the third best ever in the month of October."
(And it was not far from #1.)
Taken received a B+ from CinemaScore audiences, but the critics savaged it.
Good for Liam. He seems like a decent guy, a good sport and a normal human being. And God knows he endured his share of sorrow over Natasha's untimely demise. Who could begrudge him the money and fame? He's pretty great at what he does, even though all his recent movies actually kinda suck.
By the way, Frankenweenie got great reviews and a B+ CinemaScore grade, but few people went to see it. So it goes. The article asks the right question: "How many animated movies about undead characters do families really want to see in the course of two months?"
