The middle of the A's order, the 4-5-6 hitters, went 0-for-11 with 9 K's. That's "owned." Totally.
Verlander actually had a rough start: the leadoff batter against him had a homer. He then remembered that he was Verlander, and that was essentially the end of the Oakland offensive production.
Don't panic, A's fans. The Tigers can't pitch superman every game.
