They just agreed to dump R.A. Dickey on the Blue Jays in exchange for three fungo bats. Now if they can just dump David Wright, they should be ready to challenge that legendary 1962 record.

As a long-time Mets fan, I'm happy to see them finally buying low and selling high (for crap's sake, they're still paying Bobby Bonilla for another 10 years or so). Dickey's been awesome the past few years, but he's also a 38-year old journeyman knuckleballer whose expiration date could hit at any moment. I'd much rather they get a quality catcher and some pitching prospects out of the deal than sign Dickey to an extension only to watch his carriage change back to a Cy Young-salaried pumpkin.
