Die Hard took in $25 million for the weekend ($33M including Thursday), good enough to wrest first place from the defending champion, Identity Thief.
Safe Haven was a strong third with $21M ($30M)
Escape From Planet Earth grossed $16M (no Thursday gross) for fourth place.
Beautiful Creatures laid an enormous egg, grossing only $7M for the weekend, $10M including Thursday. That left it mired in sixth place, unlikely ever to justify its $60M budget.
