Ten minutes into the game, Florida Gulf Coast had taken a 17-6 lead against Florida, but the Cinderella story ended there. Florida awoke and conquered. The story of the game: the Gators pressured FGCU into 20 turnovers.
Wichita State, a ninth seed, is the only remaining team seeded worse than #4.
Louisville is the only #1 seed in the Elite Eight. Duke and Ohio State are the only remaining #2s. Two of those three teams (Duke and Louisville) play each other, so it is guaranteed that two of the final four will be seeded three or worse. Duke beat Louisville 76-71 the first time around.
The Big East has three teams in the hunt, but cannot advance all three because Syracuse and Marquette play each other today. (Marquette won their earlier match-up 74-71).
The Big Ten still has two teams in the fray, and they are in separate brackets.
