Star Trek into Darkness is on its own among wide releases today (well, actually yesterday), and it is supposed to be a good one - 88% positive reviews using phrases like "Loaded with action and humor, this is summer blockbuster escapism at its best." (Oh, you little quote whore, you!)

ST be in more than 3800 theaters and the movie prediction sites are forecasting an opening weekend in the 80s for Kirk and the gang, which would place the Enterprise in the #1 spot by a wide margin. Iron Man 3 and The Great Gatsby are expected to take the next two slots with about $30m and $20m, respectively. Those three films will represent virtually the entire cinema market this weekend. After them the list drops down to films grossing less than four million.
