New Movies In Theaters on the July 4th weekend (Rotten Tomatoes)

Three movies are in wide or ultra-wide distribution this weekend:

The R-rated Kevin Hart comedy concert, Let Me Explain, will be in 800 theaters, and has generated 69% positive reviews.

Despicable Me 2 (PG) will be in 4000 theaters and has received 74% positive reviews.

The Lone Ranger (PG-13) has not been a hit with critics (24% positive notices), but will nonetheless receive blockbuster-style distro (3900 theaters).

Box Office:

Despicable Me 2 is expected to take in about $70 million over the weekend, while The Lone Ranger will probably be in second place with a gross in the 30s. Let Me Explain may sneak into the very bottom of the top ten with three million or so.
