Box office report: 'Butler' stays at No. 1, 'Mortal Instruments' flops

As I mentioned earlier, none of the new films managed to reach double figures. Mortal Instruments finished third, The World's End fourth, and You're Next a dismal seventh. In its expansion to 1200 theaters, Woody's Blue Jasmine seems to have finished ninth.

The World's End is the only one in that group with respectable numbers, since it averaged $5773 per theater, which was the top average among films in at least ten theaters. (The Butler averaged $5472).
