This is the time of year when it gets more interesting because the top teams are playing appropriate competition instead of Catholic girls' middle schools.
The big winner of the week was Missouri. They had failed to impress the voters in their first five weeks, despite a 5-0 record. The reason? All of those wins came against 6th grade girls. They will get some love this week, because they kicked the asses of #7 Georgia. Mizzou will jump up to the top 20, possibly the top 15.
Besides Georgia, six more of the top 19 picked up an L:
#5 Stanford dropped one to Utah.
#12 Oklahoma was swamped by the unranked Texas Longhorns.
#18 Michigan lost in four overtimes to Penn St.
#19 Northwestern was never competitive at any time in their 35-6 loss to Wisconsin.
==========
#17 Florida also lost, but that was no surprise, since they were on the road against #10 LSU.
and #16 Washington lost to #2 Oregon, as expected.
==========
The most significant beneficiary of these losses will be Texas Tech, which was rated #20, and will obviously pass numbers 16-19.
