Detroit Tigers agree to trade Prince Fielder to Texas Rangers for Ian Kinsler
The trade would be contingent on positive physicals for both players, and Fielder's willingness to waive his limited no-trade clause.

Fielder's OPS has declined two years in a row, including a massive drop this past season.

2011 .981
2012 .940
2013 .819

The .819 figure was the lowest of his career.

Texas will apparently also receive a big chunk of money in the deal because they have to assume an additional $100 million in unpaid contract obligations. Fielder has $168 million remaining unpaid over seven years, while Kinsler is owed $62 million over the next four years. Given Fielder's declining performance in the past two seasons and his obvious lack of physical conditioning, the Rangers have to have some serious reservations about whether they can get seven years of productivity from their new slugger.
