American Public’s Views on Human Evolution: 33% deny it exists
American public’s views on human evolution: 33% deny it exists
And that includes 24% of college graduates!
The biggest difference in the sub-groups is between white evangelical Protestants (64% deny evolution) and white mainstream Protestants (only 15%)
The strangest finding (in my opinion) is that more Republicans are rejecting evolution than in the past. In 2009, 54% of Republicans felt that living things have evolved over time. Just four years later, that number has dropped to 43%.
