Out of the Furnace bombed in nearly nuclear fashion, with $5.3 million. It made the Box Office Mojo list of all-time worst openings, 2000 or more theaters, but it was not the worst such movie of 2013. That would be Paranoia, the "thriller" with Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford, which grossed only $3.5 million in its opening frame.
