Final NCAA College Football BCS Standings

Final NCAA College Football BCS Standings
Not just final for this year, but final PERIOD. The BCS system is now retired.

Bowl match-ups:

Championship: BCS No. 1 Florida State and No. 2 Auburn. The bookies have currently installed FSU as 8-point favorites. That's down from an opening line of 9.5.

Sugar Bowl: No. 3 Alabama will face No. 11 Oklahoma

Orange Bowl: No. 7 Ohio State will play No. 12 Clemson

Fiesta Bowl: No. 6 Baylor and No. 15 UCF

Rose Bowl: No. 4 Michigan State and No. 5 Stanford .

That means the top 7 teams all got in.

The best teams not getting in:

#8 Missouri, #9 South Carolina, #10 Oregon, #13 Oklahoma State and #14 Arizona State. Only Arizona State and Oregon were eligible for an at-large selection because of the two-team limit per conference.

Did the computers disagree? Only slightly. The computers ranked Mizzou #6, and downgraded Baylor to #9, which seems correct to me. The computers ranked Arizona State #11, ahead of Oklahoma, but that is not salient to bowl selection. After all, Oregon ranked above Oklahoma as well, but Oklahoma got the bowl bid because of the Big 12's ties to the Sugar Bowl.

Non-BCS bowls between ranked opponents:

The Cotton Bowl got a great pairing: #8 Missouri against #13 Oklahoma State

Capital One also fared well: #19 Wisconsin against #9 South Carolina

Chick Fil-A: #24 Duke against #21 Johnny Football. Well, I guess Manziel should at least be able to go out a winner. Maybe.

Royal Purple Las Vegas: #25 USC against #20 Fresno State. (USC kinda lucked out in getting a ranked opponent. Oregon, Arizona State and UCLA will all play unranked teams, although #10 Oregon's match-up against Texas is sort of interesting because the Longhorns have a marquee name and an OK team.)
