NFL Football Scores, week 15

NFL Football Scores, week 15

Our Packers held on to their playoff chances, apparently through divine intervention. They recovered from a 26-3 halftime deficit against Dallas in Dallas. Somehow, despite a mediocre 7-6-1 record, they are only a half-game behind the Bears for the division lead, and they will play them head-to-head on the last week of the season. (The Lions, who have played one less game, at least until Monday night, are also in the hunt.)

Some of the top teams lost. Most important among them is New England, which handed the #1 seed back to the Broncos. The Broncos' hold on that position is precarious, at best. They not only have to worry about dropping to #2, but they could actually drop to #5 if they finish with a worse record than KC (the two teams are now tied). Luckily for Denver, the schedule favors them. They face two very weak teams (4-10 Oakland and 2-12 Houston), while the Chiefs have to face two tough ones: the Colts (9-5) and the Chargers (a tough 7-7). The Pats have one easy game (Bills) and one hard opponent in the Ravens (7-6 and can't afford to lose).

The Eagles and Cowboys both lost in another division that nobody cares to win. The Eagles are currently up by one and those two teams will play each other in the final game of the season. Before that, Dallas has a fairly easy game against the Redskins and their quarterback-of-the- month club, while the Eagles have to beat the Bears, who will pull out all the stops because they are fighting for their own division championship.

The Saints also lost, and could lose the division if they falter down the stretch. They are tied with Carolina now and play them next week. A Saints loss could drop them all the way into a tie with Arizona for the second wild card slot, but they at least have the padding of the tie-breaker over Arizona.

The victorious Dolphins are currently holding the sixth and final AFC playoff spot, but the Ravens have played one less game, and can get back up to the same record as the Dolphins with a win tomorrow. A Baltimore win puts them in the catbird seat because they have the tie-breaker over Miami.
