Stream of consciousness:
How many of you remember an obscure TV game show called Haggis Baggis? It aired during the 50s game show craze, so there was also a prime-time version. Jack Linkletter (Art's son) hosted the nighttime version, but refused to host the daily edition because he would have been competing directly with his dad!
The show began in June of 1958, which was exactly the wrong time. The famous scandals were completely exposed that summer, causing the most popular nighttime quiz shows (Twenty One, the $64,000 Question, the $64,000 Challenge, and Dotto) to get cancelled almost immediately. The networks were jettisoning quiz shows en masse in the summer and autumn of 1958, so Haggis Baggis, although presumably not fixed, was also dumped. Thanks, Herb Stempel.
It seems that just about everything is on the internet somewhere. That link leads to the daytime version, hosted by Dennis James, who was the show's second emcee. The daytime show survived until the summer of 1959.
