Box office report: 'No Good Deed' is No. 1, 'Guardians' crosses $300M

'No Good Deed' is No. 1, 'Guardians' crosses $300M
The experts had pegged No Good Deed for about $17M, but it exceeded that by more than 40%, grossing a solid $24.5M. That's great news for the investors, who put up only $13 million in production costs.

Second place Dolphin Tale 2 grossed about what No Good Deed had been expected to gross (and vice-versa).

The Drop, starring Bane and Tony Soprano, finished a surprisingly high sixth despite being in only 800 theaters.
