This week's movie releases (December 17th and 19th) at Rotten Tomatoes

The Hobbit: Five Armies (opened Wednesday; 3875 theaters; 62% positive reviews; rated PG-13) is the final Peter Jackson film about Middle Earth.

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (3784 theaters; 48% positive reviews; rated PG) is the latest family-friendly offering from yet another continuing series.

Annie (3116 theaters; 18% positive reviews; rated PG) is the latest version of the perpetually annoying musical.

Wild (1061 theaters; 92% positive reviews; rated R) is the film with Reese Witherspoon nekkid, although the alleged full-frontal scenes seem to have disappeared since the festival screenings. Official blurb: "With the dissolution of her marriage and the death of her mother, Cheryl Strayed has lost all hope. After years of reckless, destructive behavior, she makes a rash decision. With absolutely no experience, driven only by sheer determination, Cheryl hikes more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, alone. WILD powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddens, strengthens, and ultimately heals her."
The Hobbit is expected to take the number one spot over the weekend with a gross exceeding $60 million.

Night at the Museum should be in second place with about $30 million.

Annie will pull in a disappointing total in the mid-teens, but that should still be good enough for third place.

Hold-overs Exodus and Mockingjay should take fourth and fifth.

Top Five and Wild should battle it out for sixth place with about $4 million apiece.
