Jim Rome apologizes to dorks

I don't quite get why he decided on an apology. Isn't the whole point of Jim Rome's show to say outrageous and offensive things so people will call in and react? Every time I tune in on the radio, he's saying something like "I love Nazis, hate kittens. OJ is innocent, Nelson Mandela was an asshole. What's your take? Call in at ... " He pretty much offends everyone, kinda like Don Rickles without the humor. If he follows this "dork" precedent, he'll pretty much have to apologize to everyone on the planet in alphabetical order.
