I really don't give a shit about the fact that Brian Williams is obviously bullshitting us, but for the record, Williams' excuse about his memory conflation is yet another obvious lie. If it were simply a matter of memory, why has he been telling the story falsely since it first happened, when memory would not have been an issue.

Don Helus, the pilot of the chopper that actually took the fire, says he contacted NBC way back in 2003 to report Williams' misreporting, but was ignored by the network brass.
