Although maybe not, because if it happened to you, you'd be dead, and Dead Men Don't Cry. If that's not a title of a Raymond Chandler or Dash Hammett story, it should be.
(I couldn't resist looking it up. There's no hard-boiled noir with that title, but there is such a book.)
