"Chappie probably was supposed to fall into this new type of conflict, some sort of cautionary tale about giving robots brains, but it's too convoluted, misguided and moronic to be anything other than the cinematic equivalent of humping a dead squid; not nearly as satisfying as you hoped when you were riding your bike to the seafood store."
