Can't say much for his teammates. Seven times on base and his only run scored was on his own dinger! Arizona left 17 runners on base. Goldschmidt received three intentional passes in the game so that the Brewers could pitch to Ender Inciarte instead. That strategy worked to perfection.
By the way, the Brewers won it on a walk-off homer in the 17th inning by Martin Maldonado, the sub for injured all-star catcher Jonathan Lucroy. Maldonado had to stay behind the plate for the entire game. Fortunately for him, the weather was chilly in Milwaukee (46 degrees at game time), so it didn't kill him to wear the catching gear in the six-hour game. In fact, it didn't seem to bother him at all. He had four hits and two walks - a helluva game for a guy who came into the game hitting .171.
