Some people think the Muhammed Cartoon Contest was a "bait" event

I had previously conjectured that an "Insult Mohammad" contest just was kind of a dumb idea, but I guess I may have misinterpreted what the point was. The guy at WWTDD suggests it was an ambush - that people were just hoping some crazy jihadis would show up so the police could gun them down like Texas rattlesnakes at a backyard barbeque.

That's kind of dark and demented.

May I make one suggestion for your future trolling? Do not hold your events in the freakin' suburbs, where innocent bystanders may be killed. Why not announce a giant Mohammad-drawing contest somewhere out in the empty parts of the western USA, preferably in a box canyon. Feel free to advertise it on all the media you can afford. Then you and the jihadists can blast the crap out of each other without endangering any Sunday school kids or random Dairy Queen customers.
