It would have been a triple for me, and I'm an old fart. It might have been an inside-the-park dinger for anybody capable of running at normal human speed.
When I was about 14 or so, I saw mighty Luke Easter, who was still playing AAA ball when he was in his fifties, blast a line drive into the right field fence in Rochester. The right fielder fielded the carom cleanly, turned and fired the ball to first. Big Luke was safe - but on a close play! I'm guessing that Luke at that age would have beaten today's Colon by 20 yards in a 40-yard dash, although "dash" may not be the correct word to apply here.
By the way, Colon is leading the National League in wins. He is 42 years old, and his weight ranges somewhere between the levels of Shaq and a blue whale.
