Do Critics Of Violence And Sex In HBO's 'Game Of Thrones' Miss The Point?
batty for nudity 2: Do Critics Of Violence And Sex In HBO's 'Game Of Thrones' Miss The Point?
No, they don't. Violence and sex ARE the point, or at least a major part of it. If you don't want to see those things, find another Sunday night activity. Scrabble is good.
Seriously, their universe probably has less rape and violence than our own had in the days of knights in armor, and probably less than the Islamic State has now. Furthermore, women are much more powerful in their fictional existence than in our real world circa, let's say, 1000 AD. Cersei and the Khaleesi (not to mention the manipulative, no-bullshit old crone played by Diana Rigg) have been pretty much running their universe.
