1969 Mets sing 'You Gotta Have Heart' on Ed Sullivan
It's a great bit of nostalgia for World Series week.
Odd to see that future superstar " L. Nolan Ryan" was not one of the players to earn applause, until you realize that he was then a young (age 22) long reliever and spot starter with a lifetime record of 12-13. His only World Series appearance was a relief stint, and he hadn't quite mastered the whole singing thing either.
The World Series pitching star, Jerry Koosman, got a nice hand, but there was no special reaction for Series MVP Donn Clendenon.
