Although she's always playing the Russian card in WWE, she's not Russian at all. She was born in Gainesville, Florida, is of mixed Portuguese/Venezuelan heritage, and grew up in Latvia. The connection to Russia is that Latvia was part of the Soviet Union until she was five years old. They did teach Russian in the schools there, and she professes to speak that language fluently, although I've only heard her speak a few short phrases.
