Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird author, dies aged 89

Her book and the movie made from it are beloved creative works, and much more. They are cultural touchstones. I'll bet if random average people of all ages were surveyed about their favorite book, more people would name To Kill a Mockingbird than any other.

(I, of course, would name "Cheerleaders in Chains.")

By the way, a tip for you youngsters. While it is bad luck to kill a mockingbird, that can be cancelled out by killing a second mockingbird. The important thing to remember is this: when you go on a mockingbird killing spree, always slaughter an even number of them.
