W.P. Kinsella, made famous by Field of Dreams, has passed away

That movie was based on his novel, Shoeless Joe, a marvelous, sentimental book about forgiveness, memories, fathers and sons, second chances, priorities, baseball and love. I have given away dozens of copies to baseball fans over the years, and nobody has ever managed to read it with dry eyes.

The movie was a good adaptation, but read the book anyway, because it is magical.
