Bagwell, Raines, I-Rod headed to Cooperstown; Bonds, Clemens denied again
It is I-Rod's first time on the ballot.
Trevor Hoffman missed by five votes, Vlad Guerrero by 15.
Bonds continues to climb. He pulled 54%, up from 44% last year. Clemens is also on a similar path. He also pulled 54% this year, up from 45% last year.
I was at a game in Montreal in which Raines was picked off first twice. The second time, because he was so coked up, he didn't even react when the pitcher threw the ball over. He just stood there. Totally surreal. It was only about a second after the first baseman had tagged him that he finally came back to reality and did a kind of startled jump, as if he had just been bitten by a spider.
