  1. They don't have my favorite one in there. It's probably not on Youtube as it's from at least 30-35 years ago.

In the part where the contestants are trying to bid the closest to the actual retail price without going over, some item came up, and out of nowhere a guy in the audience yelled out $624. (I'm making the number up.)

The first three contestants ignored him, but he kept yelling and the last contestant said "$625." And he yelled out "$624" She looked at Bob Barker who said "I'm sorry, you can't change your amount once you've completed it, but it's not like he knows what the price is."

So, Bob Barker removes the card, and then removes the card from his face and his face is ashen.

And Barker very meekly says "But, how did you know?"

I think the guy replied something like "I sell them."

  2. My other favorite odd moments, but not one specific odd moment, if 'favorite' is the right word was when one person would bid say $776 and the next person would bid $775.

Even when I was around six years old I knew that didn't make sense. I haven't watched the show in many years, but I don't think anybody does that anymore.

  3. I watch it now and then but with Drew Carey, it's not the same show, if you know what I mean. And yes, they do the $1 up bid or down bid all the time.

  4. It's a solid strategy if you're trying to be the closest and you're sure everyone overbid. It works fine if they are all aiming way too high. Likely easier to do in the old days. Everything is more than we think it costs today.
