Wouldn't you know it? Moonlight is the only one of the nominees I have not seen.
But I'm still glad La La Land didn't win. I hated that thing. (I have to admit I can't technically claim to have watched it, because I kept fast-forwarding.)
I'll have to get around to seeing "La La Land" eventually, but every time I see a clip from that brilliant, imaginative, creative, unprecedented work of art, it reminds me of something Woody Allen did 21 years ago in "Everyone Says I Love You." From non-musical stars singing and dancing to the nods to old Hollywood musicals to Goldie Hawn getting swept up by the romance of dancing and lifting off the ground and into the air, Woody did it all first.
ReplyDeleteI didn't understand the fascination with it. It's good, worth seeing and enjoyable, but I had it WAY down my list. Nowhere near Moonlight and some of the other nominees. La La Land wasn't worth watching a second time.
