NCAAM College Basketball Scores - March Madness Day 2
#1 seeds Kansas and North Carolina each scored 100 or more, winning by 38 and 39.
There were no dramatic upsets, but a few higher seeds advanced.
#11 seed USC hung in with a one-point victory over SMU, but those teams were considered evenly matched.
#10 Wichita State beat Dayton, but that was not unexpected either.
#11 Rhode Island beat Creighton, but some oddsmakers had actually installed RI as the favorite, so no real upset there.
The results were so predictable that many, many entrants in the ESPN contest correctly predicted all 32 winners.
------------
Saturday's games:
The oddsmakers do not expect any surprises in the first half of round two. Most of the spreads are fairly close, although Gonzaga is favored by 11 over Northwestern. I suppose Northwestern is pretty happy just to be where they are. This is the first year they ever won a game in the tournament, having beaten Vandy in round one! I'm assuming Vanderbilt's coach has been at least fired, if not tarred and feathered.
