The future is a world without retirement

We're either going to need Wal-Mart to hire a shitload more greeters, or we'll have to resort to the mysterious ritual of Carousel. (Just not at 30.)

  1. On the other hand, due to automation, the future is a world where there will be no need for work and no work for humans to do anyway.

    A quote that has apparently been attributed to all sorts of people, but seems to have been first said by some anonymous person in Denmark:

    Det er vanskeligt at spaa, især naar det gælder Fremtiden.

    It is difficult to make predictions, especially about the future.

    1. He was one of the people it was attributed to. The most common attribution apparently is to Niels Boehr as he quoted a form of the saying at various times.
