That's what they were ridiculing! A person at his education level should know the difference between the two, and should also have somebody smart to proofread anything he's planning to make public.
Although, we all know how insidious spellchechecker can be... maybe it was nothing more than what happened to me the other day when I was trying to write a review of service I had received at a local car dealership and no matter how many times I wrote the word "advisOR", spellchecker kept changing it to advisER....
Too true, but this is less political discourse and more watching a drooling eejit take a can-opener to your car's paint job. You have no way of stopping him, so the only consolation is to laugh when he grabs the can-opener by the sharp end.
