The voters, should this idiotic measure actually make the ballot, need to consider the consequences - ALL of them, like they'll need their own currency, you'll need a passport to go anywhere, no more FDIC protection for the banks, no federal funding of roads and such, no army or navy protection, they'll need their own of each... it goes on and on. But like I told a couple of friends who live in CA, I love articles like this. It proves that NC doesn't have a monopoly on stupid politicians!
I wonder if the newly autonomous nation of California would be debt-free, or whether Washington would insist that it assume at least part of the U.S. national debt?
